- Promote incentives for carpooling, use of public transportation, bicycling or walking to work.
- Impose a disincentive by charging a parking fee for single-occupant cars and trucks to park in the company parking lot.
- Coordinate employees’ hours to coincide with public transportation timetables.
- Provide premium parking in the company parking lot for carpoolers and drivers of hybrid vehicles.
- Provide easily accessible bike racks (and shelter them from the elements if possible).
- Provide shower and locker room facilities for bicycle and pedestrian commuters
- Provide a company shuttle from the nearest public transportation stop to your place of business.
- Allow employees to telecommute whenever possible.
- Encourage audio or video conferencing when possible.
- Allow flex time (compress work week into 4 ten-hour days instead of the traditional 5 eight-hour days).
